My mom and I went to JCPenny today and had some professional pictures taken of Lucy in her blessing dress. We really had a lot of fun getting Lucy dressed up and trying to get her eyes to look at the camera. The first outfit was the blessing dress in case Lucy didn't make it through our other outfits and poses for her. The background was black to give contrast to her white dress. My mom followed through on her promise and had the cutest little bonnet ready for Lucy to wear. She even embroidered tiny green leaves with pink flowers on the top! I just love how motivated my mom is and how willing she is to do things for her children/grandchildren. Lucy did really well for that outfit with us changing her pose and taking some pictures with the bonnet off.
However, her patience was wearing thin and started crying when I went to dress her in her second outfit: a pink onesie and a tulle tutu (is that how its spelled?). We laid her on her stomach so she would look like a pretty ballerina. These poses were harder because we had to stop to comfort her from crying. We still managed to get some cute pics.
Next, was our third and final outfit: naked!! No, she still wore a diaper with a whit bottom to cover the bottom. The pro's called it the diaper pose. They changed the background to white and laid out a blanket of roses in shades of pink and white. This was my favorite- and the hardest- especially for Lucy because she was really fussy and now hungry. We made it through it though with some more adorable shots!
I really am glad Lucy had some pictures done. She will be 7 weeks old on Sunday and I wanted pics of her still little. Plus, with the blessing at the same time made it even better timing.
Now the hard part- deciding which pictures to keep! And if you know my mom and I, we are not quick decision makers when it comes to these sort of things, and being together makes it worse because we feed off each others' indecision and end up frustrated. But, the studio was closing soon for lunch break and we had to speed things up. I'd say we did pretty good actually. We got the poses we each wanted and were happy with the result. So from start to finish it only took us 1.5 hours! The pics will be ready in 10 days and I'll post some then. I can't wait to see them!
